Automobiles in German City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Report
Area Police
Roughly 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Cars, walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they stated in a statement.
Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.
The liquid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then located numerous other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say early analysis show the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; officials are not yet aware of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the community for information.
A senior official said the incident rendered him without words and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the right-wing attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
